Brunch at White Mountain Hotel, New Hampshire

By Gerard Sevigny

On Sunday October 16, 2016, I took a bus tour with MVRS. On our way to the White Mountain Hotel we stopped at a covered bridge with a river that ran beneath it.

At the hotel we enjoyed a huge buffet. The view of mountains all around us was spectacular. There was a huge rock wall that people climb, though this day there were no climbers.

After the delicious buffet, we traveled north to Cannon Mountain and enjoyed an aerial tramway ride for a bird’s eye view of the fall foliage. The mountain is around 4,100 feet high. The tramway travels at a rate of 4 yards per second over 1 mile of cable. Each ride takes 7½ minutes. I saw many turkeys walking forward into the woods from a piece of rock path. It was the first time I rode the tramway in Franconia Notch NH.

NOTE FROM THE EDITOR:
• On page 4 of the last issue of the Waybill, Tracks We Have Crossed was inadvertently attributed to the wrong author. It was actually Gerard Sevigny who wrote Lucky in Right Time in The Towers of Narragansett.
• Gerard: please accept not only my apologies, but also my thanks for your frequent contributions to the Waybill.
